ABOUT ME
My name is Christine Marquardt. I'm an artist living in Reinbek. After studying communication and graphic design in 1999, I worked in both agencies and publishing houses. Since 2002, I've been working freelance for clients in various industries. I founded the magazine Hosenmatz. Since 2018, I've been publishing the magazine Festzeit.
During my graphic communication design studies, I discovered my love and technique for acrylic painting, which continues to fascinate me today. I transform colors into contemporary art. Impulsively and intuitively, I mix acrylic, charcoal, and pastels; everything flows together! Subtle details are created through splashing techniques. I sometimes work with strong color combinations of pink and a touch of black. Occasionally, words or sentences lend a statement to the image. Each image radiates in its own right and expands spaces.
My works are created in the moment and are guided by intuition, spontaneity, experimentation and emotions.
Consciously or unconsciously, I use techniques known as stylistic devices of abstract expressionism. Each work has its own unique expression, with clearly defined color harmonies. My art has an energetic effect. You can feel this in my works; that's what makes them so appealing.
I also do commissioned work and hold painting workshops.
